The Hug Mission

Hugs are powerful, transformative and healing. They are also the first thing that Krista craved when she awoke from surgery. She said "I need hugs to fight cancer and I need to start now." So she is asking you all to join her on this mission and share the healing power of hugs to help her on her journey toward total healing. The more you hug, the better you'll feel and the more profound the impact you'll have on Krista's recovery.

How to Participate

1. Hug Someone

Hug your family, your friends, the person who makes your latte or your cat. Don't limit yourself to the usual suspects. Be bold. Make someone's day. You've never had a better excuse. And don't stop with just one, go back for seconds and thirds.

2. Make it Count

Our goal is 100,000 hugs, and here are a few ways to make yours count:

  • Post to Social:
Post about your hugs on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram with these tags: #hugmission and @kristascure. You can post selfie pictures of the hug, a picture of the recipient's smile after-the-fact, or you can simply post a few words about all your hugging. Each post counts as one hug and helps spread the word to others.

  • Submit Your Hug Count:
Tell us your total hug count each day/week/etc. using the form on the right side of this page. If you are a super hugger and hug multiple people multiple times per day, then please come back often with your tallies.

3. Rally the Troops

Encourage friends, family and co-workers to join the mission. Use the Facebook or Twitter buttons below to share this page. You can even copy and paste this link ( http://www.kristascure.com/hug-mission )  into an email. Or simply challenge your friends to follow your lead when you post about your hugs on social media.
